We Almost Got Our Western Australia Road Trip Wrong…
On a map, the route looks simple. Perth to Esperance, follow the coast, stop off on the way.
Then we put the distances on Google Maps and realised how far apart everything actually was. The distances are huge, and most of the best places aren’t obvious unless you already know where to look. It’s easy to spend hours on the road and still feel like you’re missing something.
If our trip had just been a week, we probably would have followed the obvious route, stopped in the main towns, and driven straight past half the places that made this road trip unforgettable.
But once we started finding the right stops, everything changed. We had empty beaches, quiet coastal viewpoints, and places we never would have found if we hadn’t known to turn off the road.
